Stealth Attack returned to his winning ways as he made a big move on the far turn to win the $9,000 Invitational Handicap at Portland Meadows. The win was the thirteenth for Stealth Attack, who has now earned over $128,000 in his solid career for owner Jim Gilmour and trainer Sue Gilmour.
Stealth Attack sat back in the second flight as Thunder Thorn and Paris Island dueled with one another for much of the way. Paris Island put away Thunder Thorn at the quarter pole, but was immediately tackled by Stealth Attack. Stealth Attack clinched the lead, and held off a late closing Gameshy who rallied to snatch the place. Paris Island stayed on for third. One Quick Brew was sent off as the 6/5 favorite, yet only managed a fifth place finish.
Stealth Attack was ridden by leading jockey Joe Crispin, and completed the one and one sixteenth mile in 1:47.73.
